Another item of news is that the docufantasy of and about my poetry, “Emerald Ice,” is still making the rounds of independent film festivals and winning distinctions for Jesseca Simmons, the innovative filmmaker. At the end of this year, when the film finishes its festival life, Jesseca will make the film available on a site from which you can download it.
Another bit of Wakoski-ana is that a composer, musician, active performer with his band, Nick Barbieri, over the course of a year has ben using parts of my long poem, GREED,as lyrics for songs. Unlikely as it seems. He told me, when he visited in June, that excerpts of almost all of the parts of “Greed” are now cast into songs and that some time this year there will be a commercially mastered digital recording of the whole set of poem-songs. He is a popular song writer, but prides himself on using serious poetry for his lyrics. I think when the recording is finished it will be available for purchase. I’ll post the information when I receive it.
